Tech Tip #33: Store Documents Properly to be Spot Audit Ready
Spot audits require you to be able to produce paper copies of all requested records within 30 days. Financial records can typically be kept digitally, but be sure to have redundant backups. Printing records and journals monthly can also help avoid problems that could arise with data corruption and computer crashes. For cashed cheques, even if stored electronically, be sure to keep images of the front and back of the check.
